An affordable pocket of South-East London, Catford boasts an eclectic selection of beautiful homes with amazing transport links, in particular the "Twin Catford Stations". The Corbett estate is as desirable today as it was when Archibald Corbett started building houses in 1896. The Edwardian Homes in the Culverley Conservation Area are very grand and the "Catford Green Development" offer a diverse selection of homes for first time buyers or families climbing the ladder.

Eating and drinking

If you are out and about in Catford you will not be short of ideas for somewhere to enjoy a coffee, your favourite tipple or some delicious food to refuel. The Catford Food Festival offers an array of delicious dishes from local chefs the last Sunday of every month. The Bottle Bar serves some jaw-droppingly good homemade Gin and locally brewed craft beers. You could also enjoy one of the best pints of Guinness outside of Ireland at The Blythe Hill Tavern, or enjoy a beer at "The Ninth Life", one of Time Out London's places to visit on a night out in London.

Famous residents

A diverse and wonderful bunch of famous residents have lived hidden behind some of the famous old doors in SE6. The Bishop of Johannesburg and Archbishop of Cape Town, Desmond Tutu, resided on Brownhill Road in the early 70s and was awarded the Freedom of the Borough of Lewisham in 1990. Britain's Boxing hero Sir Henry Cooper, famous for his fights with the then Cassius Clay, also resided in SE6. Although he is a Suffolk boy, Ed Sheeran shot the video to his 2021 #1 single Bad Habits in the heart of Catford.

Transport

The Twin Catford Stations (Catford & Catford Bridge) provide transport to a whole host of London Stations and into South West London. These stations are classed as Zone 3. With direct trains to London Bridge, Cannon Street, Charing Cross and Waterloo in under 30 minutes, the Thameslink train also provides direct access to Farringdon & Kings Cross.

There is also a reliable bus route along Catford Road, where commuters can hop on the 47 to London Bridge, the 171 to Aldwych, and the 185 to Victoria.
