Eliot Bank Primary School

This primary school positioned between Sydenham and Forest Hill is currently rated Outstanding by Ofsted, a new inspection is currently due. It is largely oversubscribed so finding a property close to the catchment is necessary.

Rathfern Primary School

Brent Knoll School

Forest Hill School

Forest Hill School and Sydenham School provide, between them, secondary education for boys and girls respectively. Both schools can be found within the London Borough of Lewisham, and the boys’ school is situated on Dacres Road, between Forest Hill and Sydenham mainline train stations. 

There are just two secondary schools across the country with Stonewall Gold status, and Forest Hill School is one of them. This an accolade given in recognition of the establishment’s support for the lesbian, gay, bisexual trans, queer, questioning, non-binary and ace (LGBTQ+) community. 

Sydenham School

Sydenham School is a secondary school for girls on Dartmouth Road. This lies to the other side of the train tracks to Forest Hill School for boys, though the two schools are run in federation with one another. 

The motto at Sydenham School for girls is ‘aim high’ and the curriculum is underpinned by the High Performance Learning Philosophy. As well as academic achievement, the school intends to develop responsible global citizens who are creative, confident, innovative and independent. 

Between the schools of Sydenham and Forest Hill there is SFH6, a joint sixth form that has been providing post-16 education in the area for over 50 years. 

St Dunstan’s College
